By the current form of the two legends, Gautam Gambhir is open to considering them in the 2027 ODI World Cup.

These two veterans recently announced their retirement from T20 Internationals and looking forward to playing in the upcoming major ICC tournaments.

On the possibility of playing Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma in the 2027 ICC World Cup, the former bowler Ashish Nehra said.

Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli

“It involves both physical and mental aspects. It depends on your passion and motivation and in these aspects, there is no dearth at all when it comes to Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. It’s because of their drive that they have reached where they are today. From here, young guns like Shubman Gill, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sai Sudharsan will keep making runs and push you. For that, you need to keep raising your bar. Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma have done that and shown,” Ashish Nehra said reportedly.

Despite Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli retiring from the T20I Cricket after ICC World Cup, Gautham Gambir the newly appointed coach of the Indian Team vouches for the powerful duo of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli putting them all the way through to the ICC Men’s Cricket World in 2027.

Gautham Gambir wants them to play a big part in the next ICC Men’s World Cup.

“I think they have shown what they can deliver on the big stage, whether it’s the T20 World Cup or the 50-over World Cup. One thing I can be very clear about both of those guys have a lot of cricket left in them. And more importantly, the Champions Trophy is coming up and a big tour of Australia, they will be motivated enough. And then hopefully, if they can keep their fitness, the 2027 World Cup is there,” Gambhir said.
