Sunrisers Hyderabad’s versatile all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy is determined to excel in red-ball cricket and has set his sights on representing the Indian Test team in the future. Following a successful recovery program at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru, Nitish has fully regained his physical condition. He is set to make his comeback during the upcoming Duleep Trophy scheduled for next month, where he will be participating as a member of Team B.

His decision to shift his focus from the fast-paced T20 format to the challenges of the traditional longer format demonstrates his unwavering commitment to establishing himself as a force to be considered within the game.

Why Nitish Kumar Reddy Could Be India’s Next All-Rounder Star in Red-Ball Cricket

This versatile player is confident that by maintaining consistent performance in batting, fielding, and bowling, he will be well-positioned to earn a spot on the Indian national team in the near future.

During the interview, Nitish told The Telegraph from Bengaluru.

“Red-ball cricket defines your technique, character and everything else. It’s the longest format which keeps throwing challenges, that’s why it’s called a Test. So, the better you play it, the more you grow as a cricketer. I believe red-ball cricket is the biggest format,”

“I’m focusing a bit more on my bowling part right now. I believe if I improve my bowling and be consistent in hitting the right areas in conjunction with my batting and fielding, I’ll be on track to serve the Indian team.” Nitish added.
