In the first ODI against Sri Lanka, the star left-arm Indian pacer faced criticism from fans for his batting performance for misjudging the ball. Despite this, Arshdeep Singh showcased an impressive bowling performance by taking two crucial wickets. Nevertheless, even with his valuable contribution, he also faced trolling from the audience.

The home team Sri Lanka set up a decent target of 230 on the board which includes Pathum Nissanka’s 56 runs in 75 balls and Dunith Wellalage’s 67 runs in 65 balls and the Sri Lanka team lost 8 wickets in the process.

During the run chase, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill got off to a good start, with their 75-run partnership seeing Rohit score 58 runs in 47 balls. After Rohit Sharma’s dismissal, the Indian team started struggling at the crease, losing wickets in quick succession. India managed to equal the score of 230, needing only one run to win the match in 14 balls. However, in a crucial moment, an Indian pacer, who came to bat, misjudged the balls and attempted to hit a boundary instead of scoring the one run needed. This mistake led to the match ending in a dramatic tie.

During the 1st ODI match against Sri Lanka, many of the top and middle-order Indian batters failed in the run chase, leading to disappointment among fans. One player who faced significant criticism and trolling on social media platforms was Arshdeep Singh.
