Prior to the T20 World Cup, Virat Kohli had been struggling, but he eventually got his footing during the third T20I in Hyderabad, where Team India defeated Australia by six wickets on Sunday. With the victory, India was able to claim a 2–1 victory in the three-match T20I series, and Kohli once more proved why he was chosen by playing a brilliant inning.

Ajay Jadeja, a former cricket player, showered admiration on the 33-year-old following the game. Since MS Dhoni’s retirement, Kohli has developed into the ideal “chase master,” according to Jadeja. He mentioned this in a Cricbuzz interview: “That, I think, is the essence of Indian cricket. I mean, it has been like that for a very long time. There was a time when Virat Kohli would score runs and, if there was anything left over, MS Dhoni would complete the innings.”

He further went on to add “But now with the personnel changing around Virat Kohli, it’s made it easier for him and it’s made it easier for everyone else around him to play at a whole different ball game and the solidity that Virat Kohli provides and and for me it’s always been the solidity of Virat Kohli not the striking ability. That’s why he was a cheese master. He is a chase master. He understands the pace of the game. He may not have the striking ability that a lot of players have around the world and in that Indian team but there is no one else that I know who has the consistency of Virat Kohli.”

“So, if consistency is what you want, this is your man and he’s not shown it today, he’s been showing it to you for 10, 12, 15 years. It’s just that when you expect him to do what the others do, that’s when the trouble begins”

The solidity that Virat Kohli brings, which for me has always been more important than his striking ability, has been made simpler by the personnel changes around him. It has also made it easier for everyone else around him to perform at a whole different level. He was an expert chaser because of this. He knows how to chase. He knows how to chase. He is aware of the game’s tempo.
