The UAE edition of the IPL 2021 is slated to begin on 19th September and will go through 15th October. Two Sri Lankan players have signed IPL contracts with RCB and will be shown in the UAE, according to the new updates. Wanindu Hasaranga as well as Dushmantha Chameera have been added to the team as Adam Zampa and Daniel Sams’ substitutes.

In a similar sequence of events, a Social media user pointed at Lanka coach Mickey Arthur for failing to publicly congratulate these 2 players. Is the SL coach unhappy that his players are getting a shot in the IPL, or will he again attempt to destroy their chances?

Arthur didn’t pause for a second and returned it to the user in the best possible manner. Arthur also stated that he speaks with his players on a regular basis and that a public declaration is not required every time. He also asked supporters to reflect before expressing any harsh remarks about him or the players.

“I speak to our players most days and don’t have to go on social media to congratulate them, I do that behind closed doors! Before you comment think a bit,” said Arthur.

I am excited to join RCB this year: Wanindu Hasaranga

It should be mentioned that RCB presently appears to be in good shape on paper and would be eager to win their first IPL title. The 2 new contracts by RCB are substitutes for Zampa as well as Sams, who will be unavailable for the IPL 2021 leg in the UAE. Hasaranga was named player of the series in Sri Lanka’s most recent T20I series versus India, while his partner Chameera also attracted attention with his controlled bowling.

“Hello guys, this is Wanindu Hasaranga. I am excited to join RCB this year. This is going to be a fun ride. Join us and cheer for us. Stay safe,” said Hasaranga on joining RCB.

“I am so so excited to join Royal Challengers family for the upcoming IPL. Looking forward to playing alongside Virat, AB de, Maxwell, Chahal, and other talented players Will give 100% to my team RCB at all times. Watch out for some fireworks. Stay indoors, wear the mask, keep supporting RCB. See you soon all. Bye for now”, stated Chameera.
