Shoaib Akhtar Reveals Muralitharan Is The Toughest Batsman He Bowled
Former Pakistan bowler Shoaib Akhtar, surprised everyone completely when he termed Muttiah Muralitharan as the toughest batsman he has bowled in his career. Later Akhtar mentioned that he was absolutely serious about it.
We all are aware of how deadly Shoaib Akhtar was in his prime and he was nicknamed Rawalpindi express because of his fierce pace. Shoaib Akhtar’s days were unplayable and he had the ability to trouble most of the greatest batsmen like Sachin Tendulkar, Brain Lara, and many Australian giants. He was famous for his deadly yorkers and wild bouncers. Many of the pundits just like we expected to pick some greats but Akhtar had something different in mind and he picked up Srilankan mystery spinner Muttiah Muralitharan.
Akhtar came with an interesting view about the Lankan’s spin bowling great, “Muttiah Muralitharan is the toughest batsman I have bowled to. I am not even kidding. He requested me not to kill him and told me that he will die if I hit him with a bouncer. He said, ‘Please pitch the ball up and I will give you the wicket away,” Akhtar told in an Interview.

“Whenever I pitched the ball up he just used to slash hard and used to tell me that he hit it by mistake,” Akhtar added.
During the conversation, Akhtar answered a few additional questions. He selected three current-generation batters whom he would want to dismiss. He made a list that included Virat Kohli (Indian captain), Babar Azam (Pakistan captain), and Ben Stokes(England all-rounder).
Shoiab Akhtar has picked up 446 international wickets with an average of 23. Akhtar will be in Pakistan’s greatest bowlers history list, Muttiah, on On the other hand, is the highest wicket-taker ever in the game with over 1300 international wickets.
