Playing Against India Is A Great Way To Learn On Handling Pressure: Junaid Khan
Pakistan speedster Junaid Khan has opened up about the lack of games between India and Pakistan over the years. Junaid khan mainly spoke about handling the pressure situations and getting experience playing against India helps a lot.
India and Pakistan have not played any series since last in 2012–13. It’s been 8 years since two rival nations played a series. Fans are missing the neighboring nation’s battle in cricket for so long. Both nations didn’t travel to each other’s respective nations because of political conflicts. The Age-old rivalry is been stopped and this doesn’t look to be starting anytime soon.
“If you want to be groomed on handling pressure, play against India. The pressure is so much on both teams, the atmosphere is awesome. I do think there has to be cricket played between the two nations regularly. But looking at the circumstances, I don’t think it is going to happen anytime soon,” Junaid Khan told Cricket Pakistan.
IND And PAK Have Not Played A Bilateral Series Since 2012–13
Junaid khan has always been a star performer when he played against India. In the last tour, Khan possibly troubled all the Indian batsmen and his record playing against India is phenomenal picking 9 wickets in 6 games averaging 20.44. In the last Indo-Pak series, he played a crucial role in picking up 8 wickets which helped Pakistan win the series 2–1.
”When I toured India in 2012–13, I learned a lot. I understand how to handle pressure. So if India and Pakistan play matches against each other, people from both countries will be equally happy,” Junaid Khan concluded. India and Pakistan have not played a single bilateral series since 2012–13.
Pakistan players were supposed to be traveling to India but the tournament is shifted to UAE because of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Teams have avoided playing in Pakistan because of safety measures but things are improving and teams like England will be traveling the country soon in mid-October for Two T20 matches.
