The Men’s Super Smash is a men’s domestic Twenty20 cricket tournament in New Zealand. It is presently known as the Dream11 Super Smash for sponsorship reasons until 2026. The competition has been held concurrently with the Women’s Super Smash since the 2018–19 campaign.

Men’s Super Smash League History

Since its inception in 2005, the competition has gone through various names, including. The competition has been known as Super Smash since the 2014–15 season, with numerous different sponsors using their own naming rights:

Women Super Smash T20 League

The Women’s Super Smash is a women’s Twenty20 cricket tournament run by New Zealand Cricket. Same as the men’s format, here also six teams are involved in the competition, which started in 2007–08. In a double round-robin style, they play each other twice.

The second and third-placed teams compete in an elimination final while the group winner progresses to the championship game. The 50-over Hallyburton Johnstone Shield is played concurrently with the competition.

The competition’s 2021–22 winners, Wellington Blaze, are the reigning champions. With seven championship victories, Wellington Blaze is also the most successful team in the competition’s history.

Women’s Super Smash History

The State League Twenty20 event first took place in 2007–2008. Teams competed against one another once, with the group champion Canterbury Magicians being crowned after the match. The final of the next season saw Wellington Blaze defeat reigning champions, Canterbury.

The Plunket Shield first-class competition, the Ford Trophy domestic one-day competition for men, the Hallyburton Johnstone Shield domestic one-day competition for women, as well as the domestic Twenty20 competitions for Men’s Super Smash and Women’s Super Smash, are all organized by it.
