Ishan Kishan Can Replace Suryakumar In The Playing XI: Butt
Former Pakistan skipper Salman Butt has recently spoken up about Suryakumar Yadav’s form. According to him, Ishan Kishan might be a decent replacement for Yadav in the XI. In the warm-up game versus England, the wicket-keeper batsmen looked impressive and he made an excellent knock of 70 runs in the warm-up game against England — which includes 7 fours and 3 sixes.
Yadav, on the other side, is struggling with his form in the UAE. In the 2nd half of the IPL, he just scored 144 runs in 7 matches, with 82 of those runs coming in MI’s last league match.

As a result, Butt put a spotlight on Yadav’s form and proposed that Kishan should replace that position. He believes that India will have to go with Ishan because of his excellent form, and he also believes that he can deliver match-winning innings.
“Suryakumar Yadav’s flow is not the same as what we saw in Sri Lanka. Even in the IPL, if we take out the one innings in the final match of the UAE leg, he did not play a fluent knock in any of the other matches. If concerns over his form remain, Ishan Kishan can replace him in the playing XI. He has been in scintillating form. I feel if India has to pick between Suryakumar and Ishan, they should go with the latter on the current form. He can play game-changing knocks,” said Butt in an Interaction.
India’s top order has 3 right-handers: Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, and Virat Kohli. Therefore, if Ishan appears, the side will have 2 left-handed batters in the middle of the order, and one of those is Pant. Butt addressed these factors and concluded that adopting a left-right combo will benefit India.
“If Kishan plays instead of Suryakumar Yadav, India will have two left-handers in the middle-order (Rishabh Pant being the other one), so it will also help the left-right combo. India’s top three are all right-handers. Down the order, there is Ravindra Jadeja as well, so there will be depth in the team as well,” Butt added.
