On Sunday in Ranchi, India defeated South Africa by seven wickets to maintain the three-match series.

Why Ishan Kishan is called ‘Pocket Dynamo’

Because of his taste for quick and dynamic gameplay, Ishan Kishan is often referred to as a Pocket dynamo. Even though he is one of the shortest players, he doesn’t let us down and provides us with an opportunity to see dynamic gameplay. One of the causes is the quick and high strike rate. Additionally, he plays aggressively and with clever strategies.

Kishan’s Blistering knock

Immediately following an early collapse, Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer rebuilt the innings. Ishan left the field after scoring 93 runs off of 84 balls against Bjorn Fortuin’s bowling. Ishan ducked out to deep midwicket, where Reeza Hendricks easily caught him. Iyer persisted in taking India home though. Shreyas Iyer continued to be undefeated at 113 while recording his second ODI hundred.

Kishan’s Comments after the knock

“Feeling good, it’s 1–1, so very excited to play the decider at Delhi. Really happy about with the way we contributed to the team. It is my home ground, there were too many people watching. When I was fielding they were asking me to get a hundred today, unfortunately, I missed it. No worries, I’m just happy that my team won the game today and maybe in the next game I will give my best and make my team win again.”

Speaking about the pitch condition in Ranchi, Kishan stated that “It’s difficult here sometimes because I played so many matches in Ranchi, it is not easy for the new batters to score runs, so we were looking to play according to the merit of the ball and not to play any harsh shots, and it’s a matter of putting the pressure on the other team as well and the positive mindset helped a lot.”

When asked about the South African pace attack he was quoted saying “Nortje, Rabada are too quick and sometimes the ball isn’t coming on properly and stopping a touch and the next ball it was coming really quick. So, I was planning to go for it if it was near my chest and not to play a pre-determined shot if the ball is not there. So I was just trying to put the ball in the gap and it went my way.”

Future Star

However, Ishan Kishan is not on the T20 World Cup squad this year but he can work hard and improve his batting much more before the next year’s ODI World Cup. He is a good player with good talent and he will be a key player in the future for the Indian side.
