‘India Will Play Non-Stop From IPL To World Cup’: Dasgupta
India is currently playing against Sri Lanka and half of the team with all the main players are getting reading for a 5 test match series against England. The tight schedule of the Indian team is being managed and we can see all the players working hard throughout the series.
India has recently played World Test Championship and the Test match series against England is scheduled till Mid September. Post that remaining of the mega tournament IPL will be starting in UAE. All the Indian players will be participating in this tournament which happens just before the T20 World cup.
Former wicketkeeper-batsman, Deep Dasgupta highlighted how the IPL will operate against Virat Kohli’s team when they play continuous cricket before the T20 World Cup. Dasgupta made the remark while discussing the highly anticipated T20 World Cup match between India and Pakistan.
“Yes the way Pakistan is playing at this point in time, the current form if you look at it and everything put together, you can say India might be slightly ahead. The other important thing is India would be going straight from IPL,” Deep Dasgupta said in an Interview.
He added how playing throughout the time can cause fatigue for players and might result in injury. “The other thing we can’t really neglect is the whole burnout or fatigue because this team which is in England right now will not get a break. From there, they’ll go to IPL, from IPL to World Cup — they’ll be playing non-stop. So you can’t neglect that factor at all,” he further added
Few foreign players are giving priority to the upcoming world cup and won’t be participating in the remaining matches of the IPL.
The likes of Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Jasprit Bumrah are very important for India to win the World cup and they should be giving priority to the T20 world cup. We can expect few players to rest in IPL before the T20 world cup.
