Arshdeep Singh the Young Indian Swing bowler
T20 World Cup Debut
After winning the toss, Rohit Sharma decided to bowl, and his opening bowlers supported his choice. Arshdeep Singh used his ball-swinging skills to cheaply dispatch both Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan. Babar actually lost his balance off of Arshdeep’s first ball of the game. This is the debut world cup for Arshdeep and he started off in an amazing fashion.
Pace bowler from Punjab
Arshdeep Singh is a left-arm pacer from Punjab who was a part of the U-19 team that won the World Cup in 2018. Arshdeep left everyone in awe with his pace and control of the new ball in the two games he participated in during the competition.
A few months later, he was selected for the Punjab U-23 team. In the CK Nayudu Trophy match against Rajasthan, he had an impact with the ball, taking 8 wickets, including a hat-trick. The Vijay Hazare 2018/19 state team selectors decided to include him as a result, and Arshdeep had a respectable start, taking 2 wickets against Himachal Pradesh.
Early Opportunities
He was then invited to Kings XI Punjab’s trials where he showed his abilities as a death bowler, enticing the team to sign him prior to the IPL 2019 season. Due to Punjab’s ongoing reorganization, Arshdeep Singh was given the opportunity to make his debut against the Rajasthan Royals in his home stadium in Mohali.
T20 Debut
On July 7, 2022, in Southampton, UK, Arshdeep Singh played in his first Twenty20 international match against the English squad. He was the third Indian to debut with a maiden in his first over.
Arshdeep bowled a period of 2 wickets for 18 runs in 3.3 overs as a result of the English hitters being puzzled by the rookie left-arm pacer’s swinging deliveries. Surprisingly, Arshdeep was benched for the rest of the T20I series following a brilliant start.
He was then included in the 5-match T20I series between India and the West Indies in 2022. He is now a crucial member of India’s T20 World Cup team.
